| Impact of the
Prayer for Peace
and Global OM
as monitored by the
Global Consciousness Project
"The trend
<sic> suggests that there might have been some effect of the
general mood and shared interest generated by Earthdance and
its promotion of conscious intent for peace. "

| SUMMARY: On Sept 15, 2007
Earthdance took place in over 300 locations around the world in over
60 countries. The special focus of Earthdance is at 4:00 pm PST when
all Earthdance events simultaneously participate in the Prayer for
Peace, this year followed directly by the "Global OM". The Prayer
for Peace and the GLOBAL OM are the world's largest synchronized sound
event.
The Global OM was the highlight of the 11th annual Earthdance
International peace festival, and was the first time in recorded
history that global participants attuned to a specific frequency
(Schumann Resonance, which corresponds to approximately 7.8125hz
). Please visit: http://www.earthdance.org/h2om/
for more information.
The descriptions suggested that the global OM would be 15 minutes
long, and synchronized around the world. Our formal prediction was
for the 15 minutes plus or minus 30 minutes, which is from 22:30
to 23:45 UTC. There is a slight positive trend, with Chisquare 4525.86
on 4500 df, for p=0.390 and Z=0.279.

To provide a little context, we looked at
a little longer period, a total of two hours at the end of the UTC
day. The trend is more impressive, and suggests that there might
have been some effect of the general mood and shared interest generated
by Earthdance and its promotion of conscious intent for peace.

Global Correlations in Random Data
The Global Consciousness Project, also called the EGG
Project, is an international, multidisciplinary collaboration of scientists,
engineers, artists and others. This website introduces methods, technology,
and empirical results under the "Scientific Work" menu below,
and gives background, interpretations, and implications under "Aesthetic
View".
We have been collecting data from a global network of random
event generators since August, 1998. The network has grown to about 65
host sites around the world running custom software that reads the output
of physical random number generators and records a 200-bit trial sum once
every second, continuously over months and years. The data are transmitted
over the internet to a server in Princeton, NJ, USA, where they are archived
for later analysis. Individual data create a random tapestry of color.
The dot below indicates their global coherence.
Our purpose is to examine subtle correlations that reflect the presence
and activity of consciousness in the world. We have learned that when
millions of us share intentions and emotions the GCP/EGG network shows
correlations. We can interpret this as evidence for participation in a
growing global consciousness. It suggests we have the capability and responsibility
for conscious evolution. We make the world we live in, and if we Do No
Harm, we can help create a Planetary Smile.
