GEARING UP FOR Earthdance 2011!!
This year's Earthdance Global Festival for Peace will be held September 24, 2011! In Red Deer we will gather in City Hall Park in the afternoon, share a community drum circle, join in the global non-denominational Prayer for Peace at 5:00 pm, and continue to celebrate with music and dancing in the evening. Stay tuned for details as they unfold. In alignment with the United Nations theme for 2011 - Preserving the Forests - this year, we will focus our intentions on our forests and how we can preserve them for generations to come.
Local Charity:
Art from the Streets Red Deer
Operated by Potter's Hands, a local not-for-profit, Art from the Streets brings people who live on the street now or have done so in the past together to pursue their art. The program provides studio space, art materials and exhibition opportunities for these artists where they can sell their work.
This year artists from Art from the Streets will participate in Earthdance Red Deer by being on site during the drum circle and Prayer for Peace, creating new pieces as the day unfolds.
