EVENT INFORMATION:

EARTHDANCE BYRON 2009

About Earthdance Byron 2009:

Earthdance is a global festival for peace and the world's biggest simultaneous dance party but it is much more than that. The Byron event is registered event with the Earthdance International organization in California. This year is the twelfth annual event representing global unity through dance and the synchronized link-up with the prayer for peace. It is a not for profit alcohol and drug free all-ages event with 100% of profits donated to the UNCLE Project based in Byron Bay, New South wales Rural Volunteer Fire Service and the Mullumbimby Soup Kitchen Children's Christmas Appeal.

This year's theme is 'Blessing The Children' which is exactly what we intend to do, nurture them, look after them, respect them and most of all dance with them!

This is a special opportunity to focus positive energy towards peace through the global resonance of consciousness and music.

CHARITY INFORMATION:
The UNCLE Project
http://www.uncle.org.au
Uncle - Helping boys become men
Uncle is a mentoring program existing for boys (particularly those with absent fathers) who would benefit from a more supportive environment of positive male role models.
Uncle recruits, screens [1], trains and supports adult male mentors to spend time with local boys and organizes and facilitates activities and workshops where men and boys interact, learn, play and work together.
Uncle builds communities of men that care about the young men in their community and also gives the boys an alternative social community outside of home and school in which to explore their place in the world.
Uncle has been operating solely in Byron Bay and surrounds for ten years and is run by our Coordinator, Mark Gasson.

UNCLE is nominated again this year in recognition of the good work they do in our community. The value of positive role models for young people can never be underestimated....We also recognize the valuable contribution the Rural Volunteer Fire Service makes to the community. The Mullumbimby Soup Kitchen Children's Christmas Appeal is indeed a blessing for the children so we are also supporting this local charitable initiative.

Earthdance Byron Bay 2009 is a celebration of the diverse community of the region.

I must honour the dedication and commitment of Jerry Cook of TrancEnhance without whose tireless support this landmark event would not have succeeded, and all the beautiful forest dancers of the rainbow region who make it all worthwhile.

Peace
