On the 12th, 13th and the 14th of September, Bulgaria will take part again in the biggest simultaneously organized music event on planet Earth - Earthdance - gathers more than 350 cities from more than 50 countries. For the fifth release here in Bulgaria, the organizers promise to give the audience an unique concept, inspired by the place where the whole event will take place - the area of the "Prohodna" cave, near by Karlukovo village, part of the Lukovit municipality. "Prohodna" cave is one of the most beautiful, accessible and safe caves in Bulgaria. The length of "Prohodna is 250 meters and the roof is more than 40 meters high. The cave is a natural lighted tunnel, where you can find an unique phenomenon called "Oknata" or "The eyes of God" - two symmetrical openings in the ceiling, formed as eyes, lighten the cave during the day, giving a great star view during the night.

The festival place will be divided in a couple of areas. The first area is the main stage, placed in front of the cave. One of the best shows there will be Macedonian guru of electronic and movie sound Kiril Dzajkovski. He conquered the main stage of Exit festival during the 2006 year with a mix of house, break beat and drum and bass, along with the musician’s from the Balkan orchestra. Many more artists and groups will be involved in this global event as Pistamashina, Pumpkin Temp, Skiller, 1000 Names, Quantone, Microwave, Kliment, Dickie and the Djs Kink, Zenk, Laylla Dane, Error Beauty, Passcoff, Acidtrip, Stoyan, DJ Phoenix, SoulSlept, Joro Paskalev, Solaris, Pierre, Timetourist, Milan, VoV, Stenly, Cinnamint, ZawHer, Oxydant, Tokkah, etc.

The second area will be placed inside the cave, a spot for relax and alternative culture. Acoustic and chill-out music, performances and movie projections will make this experience unforgettable. A special lightening shall illuminate the vault arch, compiled by a couple of powerful video projectors. The third area will be situated on a huge meadow in front of the south cave entrance, including camp, medical point, lots of sunshades and an area for food and beverage. Besides the musical program, alternative entertainment will take place - climbing and bundjee jumps.

For the third year in a row, the festival will focus on nature preservation. Strict measures will be applied for keeping the cave intact and clear, together with a couple of cleaning actions in the whole region. The amount of the tickets for Earthdance will be limited up to 1000. Various discussions related to the environment problems will be carried out through the festival. In the spring of 2009, on the Earth's day, the organizers are going to plant trees for the second time in the National park Vitosha. All around the world, Earthdance events have charity initiative and part of the profit is going towards humanitarian gains and projects. This year’s Earthdance festival will donate funds for building the infrastructure around "Prohodna" cave, as well as to support the Bulgarian nature preservation campaign.

If you like to finish the summer season with an unique experience in the nature, you are welcome on the 12th, 13th and the 14th of September near Karlukovo. You could reach the festival place for an hour and 20 min by car from Sofia. The distance is 100 km; 80 km are on "Hemus" highway. If you don't have a car, you can use the railway, as the Karlukovo station is on 2 km from the festival.
