For the first time ever, Earthdance invited individuals to register for the Prayer for Peace on September 18th, 2010! Over 2000 individuals registered to join in the synchronized prayer in spirit, plus tens of thousands more at public and private regional events from around the globe.
The Earthdance Global Link-Up for Peace
The highlight of the annual multi-location Earthdance Festival is a simultaneous link up, when every event across the world plays the Prayer for Peace at the exact same moment – morning in the Australian rainforest, afternoon in California, midnight in London, and sunrise over the Himalayas – the Prayer for Peace is a profound and powerful moment that unifies our intentions for World Peace on all levels.
"We are one global family
All colors, All races
One world united.
We dance for peace and the healing of our planet Earth
Peace for all nations.
Peace for our communities.
And peace within ourselves.
As we join all dance floors across the world,
let us connect heart to heart.
Through our diversity we recognize Unity.
Through our compassion we recognize Peace.
Our love is the power to transform our world
Let us send it out
NOW..."

Earthdance is working with several groups and projects studying the effects of synchronized states of consciousness, specifically the alignment of thousands of minds with the same thought or intention (see the Earthmind Center on Earthdance Network).
Earthdance has partnered with the Global Consciousness Project in creating the Earthmind Meter, a graphic readout of the effects of coherent human consciousness (when thousands of minds are entrained) on the information field of the planet.
NEUTRAL (green) = Normal random flux in live datastream of random numbers from output devices in over 60 locations around the world aggregated via the Internet on servers in Princeton, N.J.
INTERNAL (blue) = Thousands of human minds are entrained by synchronous, inner-directed intention or feeling.
EXTERNAL (red) = Thousands of human minds are entrained by a synchronous outside influence, usually transmitted via mass media.

In 2007 the Earthdance Global Festival, which included an extended 15-minute “Global OM” following the 2-minute Prayer for Peace, registered dramatically on the GCP network.
To provide a little context, we looked at a little longer period, a total of two hours at the end of the UTC day. The trend is more impressive, and suggests that there might have been some effect of the general mood and shared interest generated by Earthdance and its promotion of conscious intent for peace.
SUMMARY: On Sept 15, 2007 Earthdance took place in over 300 locations around the world in over 60 countries. The special focus of Earthdance is at 4:00 pm PST when all Earthdance events simultaneously participate in the Prayer for Peace, this year followed directly by the "Global OM". The Prayer for Peace and the GLOBAL OM are the world's largest synchronized sound event. The Global OM was the highlight of the 11th annual Earthdance International peace festival, and was the first time in recorded history that global participants attuned to a specific frequency (Schumann Resonance, which corresponds to approximately 7.8125hz ).
The descriptions suggested that the global OM would be 15 minutes long, and synchronized around the world. Our formal prediction was for the 15 minutes plus or minus 30 minutes, which is from 22:30 to 23:45 UTC. There is a slight positive trend, with Chisquare 4525.86 on 4500 df, for p=0.390 and Z=0.279.
